Connect your accounting software
Tuppence can keep your books up to date by itself. Each day’s sales go in as one receipt, the day’s Tuppence fees and refunds as one payment, and each payout as a transfer to your bank account on the day it arrives. There is nothing to set up or import, and it’s free.
Connect
Section titled “Connect”Who can do this: You need to be an owner or admin to do this.
- Choose Settings in the sidebar, then Accounting.
- Choose Connect on Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or Sage.
- Sign in to your accounting software and allow access.
- Back in Tuppence, check the settings. Each is a sentence, such as “Sales go to 200 Sales”, with Change beside it. If two of your bank accounts could be the one Tuppence pays you into, choose which.
Tuppence makes a bank account called Tuppence in your books and posts the first days a minute later. After that, each day posts after 03:00 the next morning.
Managers, developers and analysts can see the page and download the statement file. Invite your accountant as an analyst.
Reconcile a payout
Section titled “Reconcile a payout”When a payout reaches your bank, your bank feed shows it. Tuppence has already posted a transfer for the same amount on the same day. Match the feed line to that transfer.
Fix a problem
Section titled “Fix a problem”A problem shows at the top of the Accounting page with the one thing that fixes it, such as Reconnect when the connection has expired, or a link to turn on multi-currency. Nothing is lost while it waits.
To stop posting for a while, choose Pause. Disconnect stops posting and leaves everything already in your books.
Use other accounting software
Section titled “Use other accounting software”Choose Download for your accountant on the same page. You get your Tuppence money as a bank statement, as CSV or OFX, which Sage 50, KashFlow, Pandle, Zoho Books, FreshBooks and most other software can import.
For what Tuppence posts in each tool, with a worked example, see accounting integrations in the developer docs.
