Make someone else the owner

Each business has one owner, the only person who can change the payout bank account. You can hand ownership only to someone already on the team.

Before you start

• Two-factor authentication turned on, for you and for them
• You need to be an owner.

1. Choose Settings in the sidebar, then Team.
2. On their row, choose Make owner.
3. Choose Offer ownership, and enter a fresh two-factor code when asked.
4. They open Team and choose Accept ownership, with their own code. They have 24 hours.

While you wait, Team says who you’re waiting for and until when. When they accept, they become the owner and you become an admin.
