How Tuppence Connect works
Tuppence Connect is for businesses that serve other businesses: a marketplace, a booking app, or software for a trade. Each business you serve gets a connected account.
What a connected account is
Section titled “What a connected account is”- A full Tuppence account with its own payments, customers, bookings, balance and payouts.
- It has no dashboard or team of its own. You run it from yours.
- Stripe verifies it the same way it verifies you. The business gives its details on an onboarding page in your platform’s name.
- Your platform owns it. You run it, bear its losses and collect its details. So a business that already has a Tuppence account can’t join your platform with it. Create a new connected account for the business instead.
What you do
Section titled “What you do”- Set up your platform: your terms, and what new accounts start with.
- Create a connected account for each business.
- Send it an onboarding link so it can be verified.
- Take payments for it through your integration, and take a fee on each.
- Your fees collect in your Connect balance, which is swept into your own balance each day. You can also send money to your accounts.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Connected accounts in the dashboard menu lists every account with its onboarding progress, what’s due, whether payments and payouts are on, and its available balance. Filter by Status. Choose an account to see everything about it.
To work in one account’s dashboard, open the account menu and choose it under Connected accounts. A banner says You are viewing the account as your platform. Choose Back to your platform’s name to return.
You use most of Connect through your integration. Your developer can start with Connect in the developer docs.
