Your store in AI assistants
People ask AI assistants to find and buy things for them. Your store answers those assistants directly, with no setup: their agents can search your products, read prices and delivery dates, and build a basket, just as a shopper does on your website.
What is on by default
Section titled “What is on by default”- Every assistant can read your store. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude and the others listed on the page see the products you sell online, at the prices your shoppers pay.
- The person pays in your checkout. When an agent has filled a basket, it hands the person a checkout link with the basket, address and delivery already filled in. They check the total and pay in one tap, as on your website.
- Some assistants can check out by themselves. Where Tuppence has set this up for your store, an assistant that proves who it is can pay for an order the person asked it to place, up to Most it may spend (£250 or $250 to start with). Larger orders go to the person.
- Some baskets always go to the person: age-restricted products, digital products, subscriptions, bookings, gift cards and products in a drop.
- AI companies can’t train on your store. Your store asks their training crawlers to stay away until you turn Let AI companies train on your store on.
Agents never see your stock counts, only whether something is in stock or running low. The order confirmation always goes to the person, and names the assistant that placed the order.
See what agents did
Section titled “See what agents did”Choose Store, then AI channels.
- Where you are listed shows each assistant, whether it Reads your store directly, and when it last called.
- The Last 30 days show each assistant’s visits, searches, baskets, checkouts started, checkout links opened, orders and revenue.
- What agents asked lists what agents searched for. One marked Found nothing links to Add a product or Add a fact to a product, so the next agent finds it.
- Problems agents hit lists products missing what assistants look for, such as a photo or a barcode number. Each link opens the field that fixes it.
Choose what each assistant may do
Section titled “Choose what each assistant may do”Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin or manager to do this.
- Choose Store, then AI channels.
- Under What each assistant may do, find the assistant.
- Turn Shown off to stop its agents reading your store. They are refused, and its crawler is asked to stay away.
- Turn Checks out by itself off to make every order from it go through the person.
- To change Most it may spend, enter the amount and choose Save.
To keep one product away from assistants, use Products hidden from AI assistants: choose the product, choose Every assistant or one of them under Hide from, then choose Hide. Show again brings it back.
Agents that misbehave
Section titled “Agents that misbehave”Tuppence watches agents across every store. An agent whose payments are declined three times in an hour is paused at your store for a day, and one that fills baskets at very many stores is limited to reading. People shopping on your website are never affected.
