Offer a free trial

A free trial belongs to the plan. Everyone who starts that plan gets the same number of free days.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin or manager to do this.

1. Open Subscriptions and choose Create plan.
2. Fill in the Name, Amount and Repeats.
3. Enter the number of days in Free trial (days).
4. Choose Create plan.

The Trial column in Plans shows the length. You can’t add a trial to an existing plan. Create a new plan with the trial instead.

What happens during the trial

• The subscription shows On trial. Nothing is charged.
• 3 days before the trial ends, your customer gets an email saying what they’ll be charged and when.
• When the trial ends, the first period starts and is charged to their saved card. The subscription renews on that date from then on.

A plan with a trial can’t be sold from a payment link yet. Start those subscriptions from the Subscriptions page.
