Connect a calendar to block busy times

A connected calendar works both ways. Time someone is busy in their own calendar can’t be booked, and their bookings appear there as a first name and the service, never a phone number or a price.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin, manager or developer to do this.

  1. Choose Staff in the sidebar and open the person.
  2. Under External calendar, choose Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft 365.
  3. Sign in with their calendar account and allow access.
  4. Back on their page, you see “Calendar connected. The first sync is under way.”

Some work and school Microsoft 365 accounts only let an administrator approve new apps. If Microsoft asks for an administrator’s approval, ask whoever manages your Microsoft 365.

  1. On appleid.apple.com, create an app-specific password for Tuppence.
  2. In Tuppence, open the person under Staff and choose Connect iCloud.
  3. Enter the Apple ID and the App-specific password. Never use the Apple ID’s own password.
  4. Choose Connect iCloud.

Under What flows, choose:

  • Both ways: their calendar blocks ours, our bookings go to theirs
  • Their calendar blocks ours
  • Our bookings go to theirs

To stop bookings on days with an all-day event, tick An all-day event in their calendar blocks the whole day here. Events marked as free don’t block anything.

Choose Disconnect. To remove the bookings from their calendar, leave When disconnecting, take our bookings out of their calendar too ticked. Their busy times stop blocking bookings.

Choose Sync now to check for changes straight away.
