Slack alerts aren't arriving

Use the incoming-webhook URL Slack gives you

Likely cause: The pasted link isn't a Slack incoming webhook. For example, it's the channel's own link.

Fix:

In Slack, add the Incoming Webhooks app to the channel and copy the link it gives you. It starts https://hooks.slack.com/.

Test failed, or Slack refused the last post

Likely cause: The webhook was removed in Slack, the channel was archived, or the app was taken out of the workspace.

Fix:

Choose Disconnect, make a new incoming webhook in Slack, and connect again.

Some alerts never reach the channel

Likely cause: That kind of alert isn't ticked, or the alert happened in the other mode.

Fix:

Check which alerts it’s posting. The line under Slack lists them. Test and live mode each have their own connection, so switch the dashboard to the other mode and check there.

Not connected. An owner or admin can post alerts to Slack.

Likely cause: Your role can't connect Slack.

Fix:

Ask an owner, admin or manager on your team to connect it.
