Approve your store's policies

Your store needs policies before it takes orders: terms of sale, returns, delivery, privacy, cookies, accessibility and product safety. Tuppence writes them for your business from your store settings. Nothing is shown to shoppers until you approve it.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin or manager to do this.

  1. Choose Store settings, then the Policies tab.
  2. If your store has none yet, choose Write my policies.
  3. Each policy marked Not live yet has an Approve button. Choose it to make that policy the one shoppers see.

When something a policy depends on changes, such as your returns window or a new cookie, Tuppence writes a new version. The policy shows Approve the changes. Until you approve, shoppers keep seeing the version before, and orders keep the policy that was live when they were placed.

A policy can’t be edited once it is live. A correction is always a new version for you to approve.

You can also ask the assistant to approve a policy. It shows you what goes live and waits for you to approve it; it never writes or changes a policy’s words.
