Set till PINs and permissions

Everyone who sells signs in at the till with their own PIN. Their permissions decide what they can do. Anything else needs a manager’s PIN.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin or manager to do this.

  1. In the dashboard, choose Staff, then the person.
  2. Under At the till, enter a Till PIN of four to six digits.
  3. Choose Set the PIN.
  4. Tell them their PIN. It can’t be viewed again.

Each PIN must be different. To stop someone signing in, choose Remove the PIN.

Under What they may do:

  • Sell
  • Refund up to: leave it empty for any amount, or 0 for none.
  • Discount up to (%)
  • Void an order after payment
  • Open the drawer without a sale
  • Pay in and out
  • Open and close a shift
  • Change a price, or make a sale tax-exempt
  • See reports

Choose Save what they may do.

Until you change them, people get their login’s defaults. Owners, admins and managers can do everything. A staff login, or someone with no login, can only sell. Developers and analysts can’t sell.
