Get notifications on your iPhone

Every Tuppence alert lands in the dashboard’s inbox. You choose which also reach your phone or email.

The first time you open the app after signing in, your iPhone asks whether Tuppence may send notifications. Tap Allow. If you tapped Don’t Allow, turn them on in your iPhone’s Settings, then Notifications, then Tuppence Payments.

Staff logins and dedicated tills aren’t asked, because they don’t get business alerts.

  1. Tap Account, then Notifications.
  2. Find the kind of alert: Cards, Disputes, Payouts, Account, Developers or Credits.
  3. Turn On this phone on or off for it. By email is beside it.

You can make the same choices in the dashboard. See Choose your notifications.

If you’re the owner, one way of hearing about Disputes, Payouts and Account always stays on, and its switch is locked. You choose how you hear, not whether: a missed dispute or a bounced payout costs real money.

Tapping a notification switches to the right business and opens what it’s about: a payment, a booking, a payout or a card.

A card purchase waiting for your approval, or a client asking to book, has two buttons. Press and hold the notification to see them:

  • Approve… opens the app, where you confirm with Face ID.
  • Decline declines straight away, once your phone is unlocked.

When you sign out of the app, your phone stops getting notifications.
