Set up modifiers

A modifier group is a set of choices offered with a product, such as Milk with oat and soy. Each choice can change the price or be free.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin, manager or developer to do this.

Make a modifier group

1. Choose Products, then the Modifiers tab.
2. Choose New modifier group.
3. Enter its Name, for example Milk.
4. Under Choices, pick a rule: Optional, at most one, Required, exactly one, Optional, any number, or Something else to set At least and At most yourself.
5. Choose Make the group.
6. Add each choice with its price change, for example 0.40 for oat milk. For a free choice, leave it at No charge.

For each choice, you can also tick Chosen at first to select it by default, or Kitchen note only for a choice that never changes the price.

Offer it with products

• On a category: under the group’s shelves, tick the categories that offer it, then choose Save shelves. Every product in those categories offers the group.
• On one product: open the product and tick the group under Modifier groups.

At the till

When someone taps a product with a required group, the till opens its choices straight away and won’t charge until a choice is made. To add optional choices, tap the item in the sale. See Change an item in a sale.
