Keep the app locked with Face ID
Your phone holds your takings and your cards, so the app locks itself. There’s nothing to switch on. It uses your phone’s Face ID, Touch ID or passcode.
When it locks
Section titled “When it locks”- Every time you open it, if you’re signed in.
- After 30 seconds away. Leave the app for longer and it locks. For shorter breaks, the app hides behind the Tuppence logo, so your balance never shows in the app switcher.
The lock screen says Locked and Face ID starts by itself. If you cancel it, tap Unlock to try again. Face ID can fall back to your phone’s passcode.
If your phone has no Face ID, Touch ID or passcode, the app can’t lock. Set one up in your phone’s Settings.
Actions that ask for Face ID again
Section titled “Actions that ask for Face ID again”Even when the app is unlocked, these need Face ID (or your passcode) first:
- Refunding a payment
- Approving a card purchase that’s waiting for you
- Unfreezing or activating a card
- Charging a client a booking fee
Declining a purchase and freezing a card don’t ask, because they only make things safer.
Actions that ask for a code
Section titled “Actions that ask for a code”These changes ask for a fresh code instead, under Confirm it’s you. The code comes from your authenticator app, a text, or an email if you don’t use two-factor:
- Changing the bank account your payouts go to
- Making new recovery codes, or turning two-factor off
Enter the code and tap Confirm. The app then doesn’t ask again for 10 minutes.
