Put a product on your store

Your store sells the products in your catalogue: one price and one stock count for the till and the web. A product goes online when you say so.

Who can do this: You need to be an owner, admin or manager to do this.

  1. Choose Products and open the product, then its Web tab.
  2. Turn on Sell online. The till keeps selling it as before.
  3. If Before it can go online appears, choose Fix this next to each item and come back.

A product can go online once it:

  • is Active, not a draft
  • has a fixed price, not one typed in at the till
  • has at least one photo, and every photo is described
  • passes the claims check: anything the description says about it, such as “organic” or “waterproof”, is backed by a fact on file

To take it off your store, turn Sell online off. Nothing changes at the till.

Under Photos, the first photo is the main one. Choose Add photos to pick from your media or Upload photos, and use Up and Down to change the order. Describe each photo in its own field for people who can’t see it: screen readers read it aloud, and search engines read it too. You can also Add a video of up to a minute.

Image studio gives the first photo of several products a clean white background, a studio backdrop in your brand colour, better light or a simple scene. Tick the products, choose an edit, then Check the cost to see how much of this month’s AI allowance it uses before anything runs. Pick Use this on each result you like. Your original is always kept, the product itself is never redrawn, and edited photos are marked as AI-edited.

  • Search results: the Search title and Search description shown on Google, with a preview.
  • Address: the product’s Slug, which makes its address on your store, and the Name online if it should differ from the till’s.
  • Price and stock: an Earlier price shows crossed out, but only if the product sold at it for 28 days in a row in the last six months. Under When it’s out of stock, choose to show it as sold out, keep selling, or take preorders with a ship date and a limit.

Offer a product on subscribe and save and its page shows a repeat option beside the one-off price. The shopper chooses how often, pays for the first order at checkout, and each repeat order is made on the day, priced from your catalogue then, less the saving.

Unless you choose otherwise, an offer repeats every month, for every variant. You can offer every 1 to 12 weeks or months, choose the saving, up to 50%, give the first order a different saving, and set a number of orders a shopper agrees to before they can cancel. Hiding an offer takes it off the product page; shoppers already subscribed keep theirs.

Ask the Tuppence Assistant or your AI agent to offer a product, change an offer or hide it. The developer docs cover the rest.

Ask the Tuppence Assistant or your AI agent what shoppers search your store for. It sees the ten words searched most and the ten most searched that found nothing, over the last 28 days, or up to 90. A search that finds nothing shows the shopper your best sellers. Use the words to decide what to add, or to improve a product’s search words. Email addresses and phone numbers typed into a search are taken out.

The Tuppence Assistant and AI agents can put a product online, update its web details and photos, change its stock, and offer it on subscribe and save. A price change, words that make a claim about the product, and a new subscribe and save offer are always yours to approve when the assistant suggests them.
