Pricing
One fee per successful payment: a percentage of the gross amount, plus a fixed part in the US, rounded up once. No monthly fee, no setup fee, no minimum fee, and nothing for a payment that fails or is declined. Our fee is never more than the payment. Holding a Tuppence card does not change the price; it earns cashback.
Prices depend on where your business is. Choose your region at the top of the page. The full rate card is at tuppence.ai/pricing/rates.

Prepaid credit and usage
Section titled “Prepaid credit and usage”A customer buys credit with an ordinary card payment, at the card rate, once. Using that credit afterwards costs nothing: no card fee per task, call or unit. Unused credit can be refunded to the card it came from; as with any refund, our fee on the top-up is not returned.
If your payments are small
Section titled “If your payments are small”There is no minimum fee and no fixed part, so a small payment costs only its percentage: 30p costs 1p.
There is no minimum fee, but every payment also pays the fixed 20¢. At or below $8.03 the fixed part is at least half the fee, so the fee is at least double the rate as a share of the payment: a 50¢ payment costs 22¢. Cards are poorly suited to very small payments, so:
- your dashboard shows what your smallest payments cost, and what the same money would have cost
as credit (
GET /v1/account/small_ticketsreturns the same numbers); - the SDKs show a one-off notice the first time you create a payment that small;
- you can set your own floor (
minimum_payment_amounton your account, or Settings → Business). A payment under it is refused withamount_too_small, so an agent cannot make payments worth less than they cost you.
Payouts
Section titled “Payouts”Standard payouts are free and unlimited. Each day, cleared money is sent to you once it comes to £1 or more, or you can request a payout at any time from the same minimum. A payment clears 3 days after it is taken (7 days until £1,000 of a new account’s card payments have cleared), or the next day with next-day payouts (below).
Instant: 0.99% of the amount, rounded up and taken out of it. Pay out
£100 instantly and £99.01 reaches your bank (a 99p fee). Instant payouts arrive within minutes,
can include pending payments, and send £1 to £9,999 each time. They are available once £1,000 of a new
account’s card payments have cleared, to a bank account that can receive instant payments
(method: "instant"; quote the fee first with GET /v1/payouts/instant/quote). Offered to businesses in the
UK, US, Australia, Canada and Singapore; for live money we are enabling it business by business.

Next-day payouts (UK)
Section titled “Next-day payouts (UK)”Not offered in the US: a US payment clears 3 days after it is taken.
Next-day payouts (UK): +0.20% per payment, from two weeks after your first payment. Once switched on, each new payment can be paid out the day after it is taken, instead of after 3 days. The 0.20% is added to the card rate before the one round-up: a £100 payment on a UK consumer card costs 99p instead of 79p. Cards issued outside the UK keep 3 days and pay nothing extra. Fee-free processing covers it. Payments already taken keep their speed and fee, and you can switch it off at any time. It becomes available once £1,000 of a new account’s payments have cleared and 14 days have passed since its first payment. See Payouts.

Prices agreed with us
Section titled “Prices agreed with us”High volume or an unusual mix of cards? Talk to us. Any price above can be agreed for your business: the card rate, each surcharge, next-day and instant payouts, and the dispute fee. An agreement has a start date and can have an end date, after which the list price applies again automatically. Each payment keeps the price it was taken at.
See what you pay in Settings → Your fees in the dashboard, or with
GET /v1/account/pricing: every current price, source: "agreed" or "list", the agreement’s
dates, and any agreement still to start as next_agreement. Owners and admins are emailed when
an agreement starts, a week before it ends, and when it ends; webhooks receive
pricing.agreement_started, pricing.agreement_ending and pricing.agreement_ended. If an agreed price
is higher than the list price, we tell you when it is agreed, at least 30 days before it starts.
