The statement file
For accounting software Tuppence doesn’t connect to, download your Tuppence money as a bank statement and import it. It holds the same postings a connected tool gets: one line for each day’s sales, one for each day’s fees and refunds, and one for each payout on the day it arrived. Sage 50, KashFlow, Pandle, Zoho Books, FreshBooks and any tool that imports a bank statement take it. It needs no connection.
- Add an accounta bank account called Tuppence
- DownloadCSV or OFX
- Importinto that account
- Match payoutsto your bank feed
1. Download it
Section titled “1. Download it”In the dashboard, open Settings › Accounting and choose Download for your accountant. Owners, admins, managers, developers and analysts can, so an accountant invited as an analyst can fetch it themselves. Or ask the API:
curl "https://api.tuppence.ai/v1/accounting/statement.csv?from=2026-10-01&to=2026-10-31" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $TUPPENCE_SECRET_KEY" \ -o tuppence-statement-2026-10-01-2026-10-31.csvcurl "https://api.tuppence.ai/v1/accounting/statement.ofx?from=2026-10-01&to=2026-10-31" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $TUPPENCE_SECRET_KEY" \ -o tuppence-statement-2026-10-01-2026-10-31.ofxfrom, to | Business dates (YYYY-MM-DD, inclusive) in your time zone. | Answer | The file, as a download named tuppence-statement-<from>-<to>.csv (or .ofx) |
2. Import it
Section titled “2. Import it”- In your accounting software, create a bank account called Tuppence in your currency, once.
- Import the file into it with the software’s bank statement import (CSV or OFX).
- Code the lines: Tuppence sales to sales, Tuppence fees and refunds to fees and refunds (each line’s memo in the OFX lists what it holds). Code Payout to your bank as a transfer to your business bank account.
- When your bank feed brings in the payout, match it to that transfer, never as sales.
Each line has a FITID that never changes: the same days downloaded again give the same FITIDs, so
importing an overlapping file adds nothing twice. The closing balance is your Tuppence balance at
the end of to.
The CSV
Section titled “The CSV”Columns Date, Description, Reference, Amount (signed, money in positive), Balance and
FITID. One business day of payment-link sales, its fees and a refund, then the payout:
